What is the deal about? 

Linklaters

Linklaters has advised HSBC on the sale of its Argentinian banking, asset management and insurance business to Grupo Financiero Galicia, the largest private financial group in Argentina.

The transaction is subject to conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to be completed within the next 12 months.

Latham and Watkins

Latham & Watkins has advised Grupo Financiero Galicia, the largest private financial group in Argentina, on the acquisition of HSBC’s Argentina business, which includes more than 100 branches and provides banking asset management, and insurance services. The deal is worth $550 million subject to certain price adjustments.
